Philadelphia Snow Scenes

Snow in Philadelphia added extra texture & interest to a cityscape already rich in imagery.

The imagery is from Rittenhouse Square & Delancy Street. The cold and the deep snow was a challenge, but well worth it. On an early Sunday morning there were few people or vehicles to get in the way of all the charm. [Photographs copyright of Adrienne Campbell]

Nikon’s D90 sensor combined with Photoshop’s shadow/highlight image adjustments really pulls out texture and “hidden” window reflections. The unsharp mask adjustment with fine tuning also helps pull out detail and texture. To create black & white photographs, use desaturate and finese shadow/highlight, contrast and unsharp mask to get nice results without frustration.
